Carol Anne Barchus “Gramma Gramma,” age 68, of North Prairie, passed away Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at her residence. She was born Sept. 17, 1944, the daughter of John and Shirley Austin.
Carol married James T. Barchus on July 19, 1980, in Mukwonago, and they lived their life in the Waukesha County area. Carol was a hairdresser for many years and retired in 2004.

Carol is the beloved wife of James Barchus of North Prairie; cherished mother of Deborah Penzkover of Waukesha, Lisa Nevitt-Austin of East Troy, Angela (Mark) Penzkover of Mukwonago, Jamie (Debra) Barchus of Milwaukee and Diana Barchus of Milwaukee; adored grandmother of Leah, Renee, Nicholas, Levi, Sarah, Noah, Kenneth, Hollyanne, Madison, Lauren, John, Alison and Catherine; great-grandmother of Jasper and Jasmine; and dear sister of Connie Austin of Milwaukee. Carol was loved and will be remembered by other relatives and many friends.

Visitation for Carol will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28,at Haase Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home, 103 W. Eagle St., Eagle, with a time for sharing memories at 7 p.m. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Mukwonago (please meet at the cemetery).
