D. Scott Howie, 62, of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., found peace Sunday, March 10, 2013. Scott was born Nov. 29, 1950, son of Don and Marge Howie of Waukesha.

 

He attended St. Mary School and graduated from Waukesha South High School. He attended Waukesha County Technical College, earning an associate degree in applied science, marketing and business administration. He also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in vocational rehabilitation from Stout University. He graduated from the University of San Francisco Graduate School of Business and Management, rehabilitation administration. He also studied culinary arts, insurance and trading skills.

 

Scott worked at Leavenworth Development Services in Leavenworth, Kan. He also worked at Information Industries, Inc. in Kansas City, Kan., and in Richmond, Va. He retired from American Multi-Cinema, Inc. in Jacksonville Beach, Fla. He also owned and operated DSH Management Corp. in Jacksonville Beach, Fla.

 

Scott enjoyed worldwide traveling, scuba diving, cooking, fishing, hunting, playing tennis, golf and riding his Harley.

 

Scott is survived by his mother, Marge Howie; sisters, Mary Kay Howie and Shari Betz, and brother, Tim; as well as his nieces, Katie (Dwayne) Chojnacki, Jessica Howie, Lauren Howie Laur, and nephew, T.J. Howie. He is survived by a great-niece, Shelby Chojnacki, and great-nephews Austin, Carson, Memphis and Dallas Chojnacki. Also surviving him are aunt Agnes (Howard) Scheunemann of Oconomowoc, uncle Wallace Howie of Hartland, aunt Rita (Blake) Lawrence of Sun City, Ariz., aunt Joyce Demuth, of Sperry, Okla., aunt Margery Demuth of Dodgeville and cousins and many friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, Don Howie, aunt Janet Zautner, aunt Virginia Rockwell, aunt Jane Leonard, uncle Jim Demuth and uncle Dan Demuth.

 

Services are planned on Saturday, April 6, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha. Visitation at 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and Mass at 11 a.m.
