Ronald James ‘Ron’ Schroeckenthaler

June 10, 1931 - March 29, 2013

Ronald “Ron” Schroeckenthaler of Pewaukee passed away peacefully Friday, March 29, 2013, at the age of 81. He was born June 10, 1931, in Milwaukee, the son of Fred and Mabel (nee Kneuse) Schroeckenthaler.

Ron proudly served in the U.S. Marines. He was a member of Plumbers Local Union #75 as a master plumber for Emil Leuzinger Company, working primarily at Wisconsin Centrifugal, and retired in 1994. He enjoyed coaching baseball for Pewaukee’s Little League and Wisconsin Centrifugal’s youth baseball team. Ron has been an active and longtime member of St. Anthony on the Lake Catholic Church, where he was an usher.

After retirement, Ron was able to enjoy golf, partnering with his friend, Karl Meyers, most of the time. He also did side plumbing jobs with his brothers and friends.  Ron was great at the stock market, and he and Patricia would travel once a year to different locations. Most of all, he loved being around his family.

Ron will be sadly missed by Patricia, his wife of 33 years; his children, Steve (Ellen) of Waukesha, Jerry (Karen) of Mukwonago and Meri (Jim) Foster of Waukesha; stepsons, Jim (Julie) Pichler of Appleton and Mark (Deb) Pichler of Waukesha; and his nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is further survived by a brother, Fred of Madison; a sister-in-law, Glorianne of Madison; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Ron was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie, who died in 1976; and a brother, Warren.

The visitation for Ron will be held from 2 p.m. until the 4 p.m. Mass of Christian burial Wednesday, April 3, at St. Anthony on the Lake Catholic Church, W280-N2101 Prospect Ave. (Highway SS), City of Pewaukee, WI 53072. The Rev. Anthony Zimmer will be officiating. Private burial will take place at Wisconsin Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated in Ron’s name to St. Anthony on the Lake Catholic Church (see address above) or the American Cancer Society, N19-W24350 Riverwood Drive, Waukesha, WI 53188.
