Ernest Schlick, 91, of Homosassa, Fla., passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013.
A native of Zilly, Germany, he was born March 5, 1921, to Gustav and Bertha Schlick, one of two children.
Mr. Schlick was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II from 1942 to 1946 and then enjoyed a 40-year career with Woolworth Co., 35 years of which were spent in store management. Mr. Schlick moved to Homosassa in 1991 from Hutchinson, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean (June 25, 1968); son, Bruce (Nov. 14, 2010); and a sister, Anna Gross (June 12, 2008).
He is survived by a son, Brad (wife Sherry) Schlick of Maple Grove, Minn.; grandchildren, Bobbie Jean Jazdzewski (husband Scott) of Waupun, Allisen Schlick of Savannah, Ga., and Kyle Schlick (wife C.J.) of Quantico, Va.; great-grandchildren, Bryton, Brody and Clara Jazdzewski of Waupun; as well as his second wife and best friend, Tommie Browning of Homosassa.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, April 5, at Yonke & Son Funeral Home, 205 Prospect Ave, Pewaukee. Interment with military honors will follow at 1 p.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery, Pewaukee.
