Barbara A. Gumieny-Killey

Barbara A. Gumieny-Killey, 52, of Waukesha, born Jan. 25, 1961, tragically passed away in a car accident Sunday, March 31, 2013.

She was the loving wife of Michael Killey for 25 years; mother to Christine (Richard) Killey Lange; grandmother to Jacob and Matthew Lange; daughter of Catherine Gumieny; daughter-in-law to Eugene and Sally Killey; sister of Mary (Gerald) Bultman and Donna (Scott) Urich; sisterin- law of Susie (Bary) Easton, Robert (Julie) Killey, Gina (Damon) Matthews and Lisa (Mike) Pavelka; aunt of Patrick (Jenni) Gumieny, Randal (Angela) Gumieny, Heidi (Michael) Murphy, Lauren Gumieny, Courtney Gumieny, Emily Bultman, Mitchell Urich, Richard Urich, Ryan Urich, Andrea (Sam) Johnson, Toni (Micki) Killey, Austin Killey, Jacki Killey Emmett (Danielle) Killey, Tristan Killey, Katrina Killey, Kip Matthews, Corey Matthews, and Bridger and Sheridan Pavelka; and great-aunt of Braden, Gabi, Thomas, Issac, Colin and Kaitlan.

She is further survived by other relatives, friends and co-workers.

Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Richard Gumieny, and her brothers, Raymond and Andrew Gumieny.

Barbara graduated in 1979 from New Berlin West High School. She then obtained a barber/cosmetologist diploma from Milwaukee Area Technical College. Barbara worked for many years as a barber before joining the New Berlin Redi-Mix family business. where she served as vice president/general manager. Barbara enjoyed traveling with her husband to barbecue competitions as a member of the QU Smokin’ Krewe and was an active member of the Lake Country Women’s Club. She loved animals, including her dogs Vera, Alice, Gracie and Mousse, and her chickens. Barbara’s smile and laugh will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A gathering will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 11, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 15250 W. National Ave., New Berlin. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 12, at Holy Apostles Church Cemetery, 16000 W. National Ave., New Berlin. All are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County.
