Mabel Braunschweig, formerly of Ashippun and Watertown, entered eternal life Monday, April 15, 2013, at the age of 97. She was born Feb. 6, 1916, to George and Amalie Gauerke in the Town of Ashippun.

She became a child of God through infant baptism and remained faithful to her Lord and Savior for the rest of her life. She was a member of St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Ashippun. Mabel married Clarence Braunschweig on Aug. 11, 1940.

She worked for many years at the Bank of Ashippun, belonged to the Shorehaven Service League and spent many hours volunteering at Shorehaven. She was a loving caregiver for her husband and two sisters. Mabel was generous and hospitable to many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; daughter, Marie; brothers, George and Ben Gauerke; and sisters, Adela Schellin, Frieda Pankow and Agnes Gauerke.

Mabel is survived by many nieces and nephews, along with other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, April 20, in the chapel at Shorehaven. Mabel will be laid to rest at LaBelle Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Ashippun or to the Shorehaven Chapel Fund.
