Thomas Ogden Binney


March 6, 1944 – April 20, 2013


Thomas Ogden Binney of Dade City, Fla., formerly of Oconomowoc, left this life unexpectedly Saturday, April, 20, 2013. Tom was a 1962 graduate of Oconomowoc High School. He was very passionate about music, having played in several Oconomowoc area bands before he moved to Florida in 1973. He served in the Wisconsin National Guard from 1965 to 1972 and was discharged with the rank of staff sergeant. During the same time, Tom was a deputy with the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department. Tom was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, having built three of his own bikes for touring the southern states and going to motorcycle swap meets in North Carolina and South Carolina.

Tom was the son of the late Burdette O. and the late Bettina Boyden Binney, and a fond brother to the late William R. Binney. Tom is survived by his sister, Betsy (John) Gruba of Hartland; sister-in-law, Charlene D. Binney of Oconomowoc; niece, Kristina (Andrew) Nelson of Neenah; nephew, William R. Binney Jr. of Oconomowoc; his dear friends, Ray and Cyn Landry of Dade City; as well as other relatives and friends.

Per Tom’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Wauwatosa.
