Dorothy J. ‘Dottie’ Damiano

J. Damiano of Waukesha died Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at Waukesha Memorial
Hospital surrounded by her family at the age of 83.
She was born in Milwaukee on Aug. 19, 1929, the daughter of Casimir and
Anna (nee Potrykus) Zurkowski.
She was employed at St. Mary’s in Hales Corners for 38 years as a school
business and operations manager. Dorothy later worked as a housekeeper
at St. William Catholic Church in Waukesha, where she was a longtime

Dorothy was the most loving, compassionate and selfless mom, grandma and
great grandma that a child could ask for.
Dorothy is the beloved mother of Michael (Del Rey), Patrick (Cindy) and
Barbara (Michael) Kowalski; loving grandmother of Christian (Stacey),
Evan (Sarah Stevens), Skylar, Peter, Nicole, Jacob (June), Troy (Sarah)
and Brandon (fiancee Angela Chiconas); loving great-grandmother of
Vaughn and Declan and a new addition arriving in September; and dear
friend of the Rev. Leonard Barbian.
Dorothy is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and

Leonard and Norbert; and an infant sister, Rita Zurkowski.
The visitation for Dorothy will be held from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday,
Aug. 9, at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N.
Moreland Blvd., Waukesha.
A second visitation will be held at 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. Mass of
Christian Burial on Saturday, Aug. 10, at St. William Catholic Church,
440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. The Rev. Leonard Barbian will
be officiating. Burial will immediately follow Mass at St. Adalbert’s
