David Edward Larson

David Edward Larson, 73, went home to his heavenly father Monday, Aug. 12, 2013.

David was born in Waukesha on Aug. 9, 1940, to Violet (nee Borghardt) and Harold Larson. He grew up in Waukesha and graduated from Waukesha South High School in 1958. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and later graduated from Carroll College.

David was a member of Germantown Baptist Church (Tennessee) for 25 years and he was also a member of the choir. David enjoyed ringing the bell for the Salvation Army during the holidays. He was a fan of all sports, but his favorite teams were the Wisconsin Badgers and the Green Bay Packers.

David will be missed by Cheryl, his loving wife of 30 years. They were married Dec. 4, 1982, at Southminster Presbyterian Church in Waukesha. They later moved to Germantown, Tenn., where they have lived for many years.

David leaves behind his children: Lori (Richard) Whitstone of Waukesha; Keith Drenning of Germantown, Tenn.; Robin (Timothy) Andringa of Waukesha; Kevin Drenning of Germantown, Tenn.; Lisa (Mark) Welch of Eads, Tenn.; Matthew (Abigail) Larson of Salt Lake City, Utah; and Jennifer (Dylan) Hanna of Hyattsville, Md.

David is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. David leaves two brothers, Tom (Deanna) Larson of St. Charles, Ill., and Peter (Patti) Larson of Delafield, as well as several nieces and nephews and many friends.

David was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Larson, and his parents.

Davidís family and friends will celebrate his life with a memorial service at 1:30 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 17, at Germantown Baptist Church, 9450 Poplar Ave., Germantown, Tenn. The Rev. Charles A. Fowler will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army, St. Jude Hospital or Germantown Baptist Church (Tennessee) in Davidís name are appreciated.
