Daniel Raymond Gammon

Daniel R. “Dan” Gammon of Waukesha was born to eternal life surrounded by his family on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at age 65. He was the beloved father of Jodi Schroeder and a wonderful grandpa and buddy to Brayden, Paisley, Azure and Shale.

Dan was born June 11, 1948, in Milwaukee. After attending Milwaukee Catholic schools, Dan was proud to have served his country in the United States Army’s 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper. On July 8, 1972, Dan married Jenny in Milwaukee. Dan and Jenny built their home in the Town of Waukesha. Dan worked for U.S. Filter-Envirex for 29 years. He served as the president of his local United Steelworkers union.

Dan was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 41 years, Jennifer Gammon. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Regina; his twin brother, Richard; brothers, Ronald, Robert (Theresa), Charles (Donna Mae), Darwin (Yvonne) and David (Christine); and sisters, Delores (Harvey), Judith and Janice.

He will be deeply missed by his family and sisters, Donna Kay and Mary Jopek; motherin- law, Delores Bree; siblingsin- law, Linda Doerr (the late Charles), Scott, Debbie, Randy, Lynn, Daniel and Deb Bree; and many nieces, nephews, neighbors, co-workers and friends, especially his best bud of a lifetime, Gene Smith.

Visitation will be held at from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, with services to follow at 3 p.m., at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha.

Entombment will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha with military honors.
