Ernest G. Correll Jr., 73, lost his battle with cancer but found his home with Jesus on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at his home of 43 years in Honey Lake, with his family at his side.

He was born in Hammond, Ind., to Thelma and Ernest Correll Sr. on Jan. 24, 1940.

He married Judy Ehlen on Sept. 10, 1977, in Burlington.

Ernest worked as an air traffic controller in Alaska while serving his country in the United States Air Force. He later worked for the U.S. Forest Service in Idaho and Nevada. He also worked for the Burlington Park Department for many years, Old World Wisconsin and for the Town of Waterford.

He leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Judy; three sisters: Doris Bourdo, Jeannie (Gary) Babcock and Carol Frederick; eight nieces Vicky (Larry) Baumeister, Pam (John) Wilson, Debbie (Charles) Boness, Linda Bourdo, Ann (Mark) Zabel, Wendy (Billy) Bourdo Ludwig, Lisa (Craig) TeLindert and Rachael (Scott) Bourdo; 12 nephews Cary (Sherri) Correll, Johnny Correll Hoerning, Ki Malone, Mel (Shelly) Bourdo, Randy Bourdo, Tim (Brenda) Bourdo, Tony Bourdo, Phil (Kim) Bourdo, Bill Bourdo, Adrian (Cindy) Bourdo, Ben (Nikki) Bourdo and Jeffrey (Lisa) Vaca. Further survived by more than 45 great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest G. Correll Sr. and Thelma A.Schell; brother, Harlan D. Correll; sisters Marlene Malone and Tenie Bourdo and brothers-in-law Neal Bourdo and Owen Bourdo.

Visitation will be at the Max A. Sass and Sons Funeral Home, Westwood Chapel, W173-S7629 Westwood Drive, Muskego, on Wednesday, Sept. 4, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. with a memorial service at 6 p.m. Burial to follow at Rural Home Cemetery.
