Lorna G. Miller

Lorna G. Miller, 92, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013.

She was born April 11, 1921, in South Milwaukee, a daughter of the late Thomas and Florence (Baxter) Strachan. On Oct. 6, 1943, she married John H. Miller at The Church of the Open Door, Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on March 25, 2007, after being married for 64 years.

Lorna was a devoted wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend to many. She enjoyed spending time cooking, baking and handcrafting. During her lifetime, Lorna was involved at her church, including singing in the choir and teaching Sunday school in both Wisconsin and Rogers, Ark.

Survivors include four children, John (Sue) Miller of Wausau, Robert (Janet) Miller of Mosinee, Tricia (David) Cotrone of Hamburg and James (Connie) Miller of New Berlin; 13 grandchildren, Rachel Williams of Oshkosh, Sarah (John) Gasper of Wausau, Hannah (Jonathon) Taussig of Kansas City, Abraham (Jessie) Miller of Des Moines, Iowa, Clint (Heidi) Miller of Mosinee, Nathan (Stacy) Miller of Sheboygan, Michelle (Brian) Severt of Merrill, Naomi (Dean) Klockziem of Marathon City, Elizabeth (Phil) Hutson of Fort Wayne, Ind., Adam Cotrone of Wausau, Amy (Jeffrey) Stempniewski of Milwaukee, Laura (Austin) Schmitt of Menomonee Falls and Dan Miller of Waukesha; 28 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, including Jeanie Strachan of Rogers, Ark., who was like a daughter to Lorna.

Besides her parents and husband, John, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred (Walter) Hehn and Grace (Howard) Maltsberger; and one brother, Theodore (Velma) Strachan.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. funeral service today, Dec. 3, at Wausau Bible Church. The Rev. Chris Juvinall will officiate. Graveside committal services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Highland Memorial Park, 14875 W. Greenfield Ave., New Berlin.
