Noel Edward ‘Ed’ Wire


Noel Edward “Ed” Wire found peace Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at age 88. Ed was a World War II and Korean War U.S. Navy petty officer. He participated in the invasion of Normandy and spent many years in the U.S. Navy until he was discharged as a disabled veteran.

Ed moved to the Waukesha area in 1956, and worked as a union electrician in the Waukesha area for more than 38 years. He worked for Neuman Electric, Scopp Electric and Pieper Power. He was a member of the Local 494 for 50-plus years. He retired in 1989.

Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Jane Wire (Blankenheim); mother-in-law, Edna Blankenheim; brothers and sister, Bruce Wire, Nancy Jackson and Walt Wire; children Lee Wire, Lester (Joan) Wire, Jill Lukas and Jim Lukas; grandchildren, Lisa Wire, Brian Wire, Michelle Wire, JessiJane Lukas, Breezy Treleven, Carter Lukas and Vivian Lukas; and two great-grandchildren. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Roxy and Homer Wire, and a son, Jeff Lukas.

Private family services will be held.
