John Jay Brinkman ‘Johnny Jay’

May 9, 1950 – Dec. 2, 2013

John Jay Brinkman of Pewaukee left us much too soon on Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at the young age of 63. He was born May 9, 1950, in Laurium, Mich., the youngest son of Emmett “Slim” and Christine (nee Petersen) Brinkman.

John is lovingly survived by his wife of 27 years, Carole (nee Williams). They were married at Galilee Lutheran Church in Pewaukee on Aug. 2, 1986.

He was the proud father of John “Jay” (Mindy Annen), Joal (Renee) and Thomas Brinkman. John’s grandchildren were his greatest delight! He was a proud grandpa of Taylor, Alexandria, Shawn, Jayden, Riley, Brittany (Andrew), Stephanie, Samantha, Nick and Morgan. He was the loving son-in-law of Penny Williams; beloved brother of Frank (ZoAnn) and Earl (Georgiann) Brinkman, the late George (Nancy) Tamse and the late Carole Woodcock; and dear brother-in-law of James (Kathy Shields) Williams and Nancy (Roland) Ryan. John was loved and will be remembered by many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Galilee Lutheran Church, N24W26430 Crestview Drive, City of Pewaukee. A funeral service will be celebrated at 6 p.m. Interment will be at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at Forest Hill Cemetery, Pewaukee.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in John’s name may be made to the Salvation Army, Galilee Lutheran Church or the Pewaukee Area Historical Society.
