Geneva ‘Jenny’ Buchanan

Geneva “Jenny” Emily (Johanski) Buchanan died peacefully at the age of 95 on Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013.

She was born May 12, 1918, to the late Lottie and Joseph Johanski in De Pere. She worked for several years at Kraft Cheese, where she met her husband­to-be, Merlin Buchanan. They were married in 1947 at Old St. Joseph Church in De Pere.

She had three sons and continued to work part-time at Green Bay Canning. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin Buchanan; sister and brother-in-law Bernice and Warren Lemerond; sister and brother-in-law Helen and Carl Sanders; son and daughter-in-law Joseph and Bonnie Buchanan; and her aunts and uncles.

Family and friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory, 305 N.

Tenth St., De Pere. The celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Father Judah Ben-Hur Pigon, MF.

Entombment will be alongside her husband, Merlin, at Allouez Catholic Cemetery, 2121 Riverside Drive, Green Bay. Please visit to send online condolences to the Buchanan family.
