Earl W. Lange

Earl W. Lange of Waukesha passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at the age of 85. He was born July 1, 1927, in Manitowoc, the son of Irving and Hilda (nee Zappe) Lange.

 

Earl was an operating engineer for Maretech Construction for many years. He was a volunteer firefighter, serving as assistant chief, for more than 15 years in the Town of Waukesha. He enjoyed racing stock cars and even served on the fire safety crew at State Fair Park for many years. Earl was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing, bowling and gambling. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his family and friends.

 

Earl will be deeply missed by his sons, James E. (Carol) Lange and Kenneth E. (Vikki) Lange; grandchildren, Angie Lange and Nicole (Brian) Lanting; step-grandchildren, Vickie Tuft, Joey Butterfield, Debbie Reichert and Fred Butterfield; great-grandchild, Brittney Lange; 12 step-great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild, Selena Lange; 14 step-great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Maretech; as well as many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, JoAnn; his parents; and his sister, Genevieve Lentz.

 

The visitation for Earl will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service today, Feb. 12, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. The Rev. Pete Peterson will officiate. Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Prairie Home Cemetery.
