Harold William “Bill” Poff Jr., 62, of Edgerton, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at his home. He was born Nov. 15, 1950, in Waukesha, the son of Harold William and Grace (Kline) Poff Sr.
Bill graduated from Waukesha South High School, Class of 1969. He was a sergeant in the Army Airborne Rangers and was proud to have served his country in Vietnam.
Bill enjoyed collecting and shooting firearms, special moments around the campfire with family and friends, and taking his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews for rides on the golf cart and fishing. Bill enjoyed the company of his pets; his cats and his loyal companion, Myia, for the past 10 years. Family was the most important thing to him.
He was employed for 17 years as part of the crew at Hickory Hills Campground in Edgerton.
Bill is survived by his two brothers and sister, Bob (Janet) Kranich of Arkdale, Jerri Lynn (Dennis) Siegrist of Waukesha and Dick (Cindy) Poff of Edgerton; many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Grace Poff; two brothers, Gerald “Jake” Poff and Junior Kranich; and a sister; Shelby Ullery.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Albrecht Funeral Home, Edgerton. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the funeral home. A full military rite will be held at the end of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
