John H. Stephens Jr.

John H. Stephens Jr. of the Town of Brookfield died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at his home at the age of 86. He was born Feb. 24, 1926, in Mineral Springs, Ark., the son of John H. Stephens Sr. and Odessa Hill. 


He proudly served his country for 24 years in the U.S. Navy, during World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam, retiring in 1967. Following his retirement from the military, he worked for 15 years as the maintenance supervisor for Press Steel Tanks. He enjoyed having lunch at the Senior Center in Brookfield. 


He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Georgia (Richard) Pence of Kewaunee; grandchildren, JoRey (Amy) Stephens, Rebecca Pence, Daniel Pence, Beverly Pence and Shannon Pence; and great-grandchildren, Crew Stephens, Rook Stephens and Jordyn Hall. He is further survived by his sister, Patsy Wolfe, and a brother, Michael Stephens, both of Baton Rouge, La.; his sister-in-law, Ophelia Stephens of Dallas; and other relatives and friends. 


He was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve; a son, John H. Stephens III; and his brother, William Stephens.


Visitation will be held  from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, Jan. 5, at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Entombment will follow at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
