Harland W. Sedgwick

Harland W. Sedgwick of Hartland passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at the age of 95.


He was born Jan. 19, 1917, and proudly served in the Army Air Force during World War II as a flight instructor. He owned and operated Waukesha County Airport (Crites Field) for many years. He served on the Hartland Police and Fire Commission. He was a longtime member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and the Oconomowoc/Hartland Masonic Lodge #42.


Harland was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Carol, and his sisters, Carol Morris, Lavera “Bunny” Weber, Lois Ludwig and Ione Pfeiffer. 


He is survived by his sons, Dean (Eldeen) Sedgwick and Dale (Linda) Sedgwick; his daughter, Diane (David) Race; six grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister, Marge “Pidge” Thomas, and nieces, nephews and friends.


Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the 3 p.m. funeral service Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Evert-Luko Funeral Home, 170 Warren Ave., Hartland.
