Henry J. Evans, age 90 of Juneau, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at home.
Henry was born March 29, 1922, in Waukesha, to Edward and Margaret (nee Roberts) Evans. He was a graduate of Waukesha High School and served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He was united in marriage to Alice Wiersma on April 10, 1943.
He was a member of St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ in Juneau, Juneau American Legion Post 15 and the Dodge County Masonic Lodge 72. He lived in Juneau since 1950, and worked for Dodge County Road Department, Juneau Transit driving truck throughout Wisconsin and the Midwest, and for the Beaver Dam Mall and J.C. Penney Co. before retirement.
Henry is survived by his sons, Milo (Dianna) of St. Louis, Mo., and Richard (Patti) of Juneau; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice; son, Steven, brothers, Roland, Donald, Newton, Edward and Milo.
Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until the noon funeral service Monday, Jan. 14, at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam, with the Rev. Dr. Carol Lange officiating.
A Masonic service will take place at 11 a.m. and a luncheon will be served immediately following the funeral service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Friesland Cemetery in Friesland.
