John R. Butler


John R. Butler of Mukwonago went home Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at the age of  54.


He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Patricia. John is also survived by his father and mother, Eugene and Sally Butler of Oconomowoc. He was the proud dad of Jennifer (Nate) Ellingson, Jessie and his delightful grandson, Phoenix. Patricia’s daughters, Tracy Henriksen, Maureen Lawrence and grandchildren Abigail, Johannes, Caitlyn  and great-grandson Liam added additional joy to his life.


He is further survived by his sisters, Sally (Phil) Salzman, Barbara (Dean) Dehnert, Kathy (George) Ekker, Ann (Timothy) Grabarz and Margaret (Matthew) Peterson; brothers, Robert (Deanna) Butler and Matthew (Susan) Butler; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and treasured friends.


He was preceded in death by a sister, Monica Brennecke.


John was a member of Operative Plasterers’ and Cement Masons’ International Association Local 599 since 1979. He was employed by Gruman Construction for many years and most recently by A.J. Heinen.


John grew up with a passion for hunting that extended for all of his life and peaked with annual elk hunting trips to New Mexico. He also had a talent for perfecting his flower beds and yard. Those who knew John will know he is “Headed High.”


A memorial service for John was held on Saturday, Dec. 29, at Pagenkopf Funeral Home.


The family would like to express special gratitude to Dr. Paul LeMarbre and his staff at DN Greenwald Center and ProHealth Hospice who gave him support, encouragement and friendship.
