Darlene Ann Jacques (nee LaMarche) went home to be with her heavenly father Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013. Darlene was born the first daughter of Lawrence and Angeline LaMarche on Jan. 18, 1942, in Escanaba, Mich. On Jan. 21, 1961, she married the love of her life, Jerome, and together they had three children.

Darlene started working at the young age of 15 as a waitress, a position she loved and continued throughout her life, including with the Elks in Waukesha. She also worked for many years for Process Display in New Berlin and Amron Corp. in Waukesha.

Darlene was not only the rock of the family, she was the angel to all who knew her. She always put everyone first and lived life to its fullest. She had a special love for children, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will truly be missed by many.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Jerome; twin sons, Kevin (Kim) Jacques of Wind Lake and Kelvin (Stacy) Jacques of Sullivan; daughter, Kim (Scott) McCullough of Waukesha; grandchildren, Shannon Gooch-Jacques, Amy Jacques, Amber Jacques (Tom Tymus), Shayne Jacques, Cody, Austin and Chloe’ McCullough; and great-grandchildren, Madison, Deion and Lily. She is further survived by her mother, Angeline LaMarche Escanaba; three brothers, Art (Elaine), Dale (Sue) and Dwayne (Myra) LaMarche of Escanaba; and sisters, Margie (Sid) Milkiewicz, Kathy (Joe) Karl and Judi (Dick) LaCosse of Escanaba.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence; a brother, Leonard; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ernest and Viola Jacques.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the 6 p.m. funeral service Sunday, Jan. 27, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha. Burial will be Monday, Jan. 28, at the Genesee Cemetery; please meet directly at the cemetery at 10 a.m.

Because of Darlene’s love of children, memorials appreciated to St. Jude’s or to help in the fight against cancer with the Waukesha/Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital Foundation.
