James J. Casey
James J. Casey passed away very peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, June 27, 2013, at age 83.
He was the beloved husband for 62 years of Audrey M. (nee Longrie).
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter-in-law, Dr. Mary (nee Zolnowski) Casey. He is survived by his beloved sister Joan (Donald) Beaudoin. He is further survived by their five children: Dr. Michael Casey, Kathleen Casey, James Casey Jr., John (Pamela) Casey, and Dr. Patrick (Nahla) Casey. Jim is further loved by his 11 grandchildren: Megan (Tyler) Ray, Maureen Casey, Sean Colburn, Chris (Megahn) Colburn, Matt (Shelley) Colburn, Erin (Nick) Narloch, Ryan Casey, Braeden Casey, Brenna Casey, Colin Casey and Layla Casey; as well as four great-grandchildren: Ella and Sophie Colburn, and Blake and Finola Narloch, and also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be today, Tuesday, July 2, at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 16000 W. National Ave., New Berlin, from 10 to 11:15 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m.
Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
James was employed for 25 years as a journeyman machinist at Miller Brewing Co. and retired 21 years ago.
He resided in New Berlin for almost 50 years. Jim loved to hunt and fish, particularly on the family land up north. He was active in Scouting for many years, with three sons reaching the rank of Eagle Scout. Jim and Audrey participated in many art shows for 30 years, with Jim framing Audrey’s paintings. He was so proud of her work that he nominated her for the Rufus King High School Distinguished Alumni Award, which she will receive on July 28, 2013.
