Pearle D. Ploeger


July 20, 1930 – June 30, 2013


Pearle D. Ploeger (Zahnzinger, nee Proctor) found eternal peace Sunday, June 30, 2013, at age 82, surrounded by her family.

While she endured a number of ailments in recent years, her smile and sense of humor remained constant.

Pearle and her husband, Ron, spent the last 28 years living in Apache Junction and Mesa, Ariz., moving back to Wisconsin a month ago. Her family felt blessed to share her last month of life.

She is survived by husband, Ron of Oconomowoc; daughters, Robin (the late Charles “Harpo”) Ebert of Oconomowoc and Sandi (Randy “Buck”) Grulke of Pewaukee; and her grandchildren, Heather (Kevin “Digger”) Karenz, Heidi (Jason) Laatsch of Oconomowoc, Hailey (Andrew) Henery of Delafield, Hilary (Kaleb) DeVries of Ixonia, Charles “Buddy” (Jen) Ebert of Brown Deer, Garrett (Crystal) Grulke and Kelly (Michael “Bud”) Hoch of Waukesha. She was known as “GG” to her great-grandchildren, Jaelyn and Jace Laatsch, Kennedy and Finley Henery, Parker Karenz, Harper Ebert, and Kenadee and Sydnee Grulke. She is also survived by her sisterin- law, Pat (Jerry) Barlament of Sturgeon Bay; her pet cockatiel, Mattie; and other relatives and friends.

Pearle was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sylvia Proctor; husband, Robert Zahnzinger; sister and brother-in-law, MaryEllen and Jack Orlopp; and her loving son-in-law, Harpo Ebert.

Pearle enjoyed reading, watching all sports, especially the Brewers, Diamondbacks and Packers.

She was a member of the AMVETS Post 2 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 3850 for more than 30 years.

A celebration of life will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 14, at her granddaughter’s cafe, The Roots Coffee Bar and Cafe, 124 E. Wisconsin Ave., Oconomowoc.
