Gene W. Renguette

Jan. 10 1927 – July 4, 2013

Gene W. Renguette of Waukesha passed away Thursday July 4, 2013, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital after a long illness at the age of 86. Gene was born Jan. 10, 1927, in Racine, to Edward and Florence Renguette.

After graduating from high school at age 17, he joined the Navy and served in World War II. After his service, he attended Marquette University and graduated with a degree in civil engineering.

In 1948, he started working for the Department of Transportation as a civil engineer in District 2, Milwaukee. He retired from the state with more than 50 years of service, including his full-time and part-time employment.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward; mother, Florence; and his brothers, Edward, Donald, Jerome and Dale.

He is survived by nieces Corinne, Andrea and Laura, and nephews Donald, James and Joseph, and will be greatly missed by them.

Gene had a strong faith in God and was a very caring and generous person and will be greatly missed by family, friends and fellow DOT employees. He will be buried at the Holy Cross Cemetery, Racine, in his mother’s grave lot at a date and time to be determined.
