Herbert A. Behl Jr., 89, died Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at the William S. Middleton Memorial VA Hospital, Madison. He was born Feb. 9, 1924, in Milton, son of the late Herbert E. and Rose (nee Neumann) Behl Sr.

Herbie served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. He was a farmer in Sullivan and then became a plumber, working in the Oconomowoc area. Herbie was a lifetime member of the Solveson-Moos-Abrahamson VFW Post 2260 and also a member of the American Legion Post 91, both in Oconomowoc.

He is survived by his three children, Connie Evans, Steven Behl and Loretta Behl; two grandchildren, Stacey Schultz and Erik Evans; brother, John “Jack” Behl; and four nieces and three nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carol Zahn; and brother, Donald Behl.

Services were Friday, May 31, at the Glenview Memorial Gardens, Chapel of Everlasting Memories, Ixonia, with the Rev. Gerry Kuhnke officiating.
