Carole A. Luedke (nee Zicker)

Jan. 17, 1934 – June 13, 2013

Carole A. Luedke (nee Zicker), 79, of Oconomowoc, had her baptism completed Thursday, June 13, 2013.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Randy.

She was the loving mother of Ross Luedke (Juliann) of Chicago, Jill (Alan Sternberg) of Brookfield, Scott Luedke (Lisa) of Plano, Texas, and Jon Luedke (Mary Therese) of Plymouth, Minn.; and dear grandmother of Matt, Megan, Joseph, Zoe, Hannah and John Paul II. She is also survived by a sister-inlaw, Barbara Luedke of Oak Creek; nephew and niece, Dan (Dana) Luedke of Shorewood, Ill., and Lynn (Bill Groeschl) of Iola; and her lifelong friend, Beverly Johnson.

Carole raised her family with strong Christian values and maintained her faith throughout her life.

She was a 18-year employee of Milwaukee Public Schools: a school secretary at 65th St., Tippecanoe and Mitchell Street schools.

Carole had many lifelong friendships. She enjoyed playing bridge with “the bridge club,” loved to travel in her retirement years, was an avid reader and loved chocolate. Carole fought a courageous battle against breast cancer and lived cancer- free for five years, then took up the fight again until our Lord called her home.

A memorial Mass was held Tuesday, June 18, at St.

Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church, N8512 Brown St., Mapleton. Guests were asked to consider wearing “a touch of pink.”

Her final rest is in the church cemetery.
