Oct. 1, 1930 – June 27, 2013

James “Jim” P. Barron, of Waukesha, died on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at the age of 82 years. He was born in Beloit on Oct. 1, 1930, the son of James and Frances (nee Thompson) Barron. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1952 until 1954. On Sept. 6, 1952, he married Joyce Clemans; she preceded him in death on Nov. 18, 2003. He worked as a construction project manager for many large projects in the Milwaukee area, most notably the Milwaukee Repertory Theater, the PAC and the parking structure at Mitchell International Airport. Jim was very involved in track and field for over 41 years and had many articles published in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and the Waukesha Freeman about him officiating track and field events. He was very proud to have the Jim Barron Track and Field Championship named in his honor. Jim was a longtime and very active member of First Congregational UCC in Waukesha. He enjoyed fishing in Canada and gardening.

He will be sadly missed by his children, James (Debbie) Barron of Prescott, Robert (Claudia) Barron of Davenport, Fla., Sue Amundson of St. Cloud, Minn., and Sally Barron (Jan Jaworski) of Whitefish Bay; his six grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Eckmann of Orlando, Fla., Douglas (Kim) Barron of Andover, Minn., Andrea (Todd) Thomas of St. Paul, Minn., Jay Barron of Prescott, Sarah Amundson of Minneapolis, and Rachel Amundson of Houghton, Mich., along with four great-grandchildren, Alex, Tricia, AJ and Taylor. He is further survived by his “super pals” Dennis Meyer of Waukesha and Mel Heimark of Menomonee Falls along with nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his wife, Joyce, and his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Myra Mahlke.
