Gunther G. Menzel

 

 

Gunther G. Menzel, 85, of Waukesha, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 13, 2013.

 

Gunther was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years,  Margarete; good friend, Helga Fuchs; and his siblings and parents in Germany.

 

Gunther moved to America with Margarete in 1952 to provide the best life possible for their children, Ralph (Leah) Menzel and Lori (Dave) Rosenberg. He was a loving opa to his grandchildren, Megan and Carly Schneeberg and Thomas (Janelle), John and Croix Menzel. He is further survived by many other family members and friends.

 

Gunther was a very loving man who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved swimming at Moose Lake, as well as Carroll College and playing sheepshead. He will surely be missed by many. Special thanks for the compassionate care provided during his last few days to the staff at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. 

 

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the 5 p.m. funeral service Sunday, March 17, at at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha. Please meet for the interment at 10 a.m. Monday, March 18, at Prairie Home Cemetery.
