Gerald A. Toshner

May 2, 1924 – March 19, 2013

Gerald A. Toshner of Waukesha passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at the age of 88. He was born May 2, 1924, in Fond du Lac, the son of John and Theresa Toshner.

Gerald was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran and served during World War II on the USS Carson City. He was a past member of St. William Catholic Church and worked for more than 30 years at Waukesha Motor Co. Gerald was an avid deer hunter, enjoyed gardening and he would make wine out of most anything he grew. Most of all, he loved going to Las Vegas and spending time with his family.

Gerald will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Patrick (Jill) Wilcox, Bradley (Julie) Wilcox, and Nicole (Chuck) Zielke; great-grandchildren, Andy, Robby, Tanner, Josh and Maddie; his brother, Myron “Butch” (Liz) Toshner; special friend, Wilma Reed; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma; son, Jon (in infancy); and daughter, Mary Bilke.

The visitation for Gerald will be held from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, March 23, at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. The Rev. Kevin Barnekow will be officiating. The burial will take place immediately following at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
