OCONOMOWOC

Lora Mae ‘Elly’ Cochrane

Aug. 29, 1959 – March 24, 2013

Lora Mae “Elly” Cochrane left this earth to rest in peace after a long journey with cancer.

Born Aug. 29, 1959, to Jim and Dorothy (nee Rhodee) Cochrane, Elly lived life to the fullest in Oconomowoc, the place she loved and the city that, in turn, loved her.

She took over the proprietorship of JC Restaurant on Wisconsin Avenue in 1982 after the passing of her father, but had years of prior experience there as she was growing up. JC’s was the hub of social interaction with the emphasis on politics and city affairs. Elly was proud of representing District 2 as an alderwoman on the council for 19 years, diligently serving on all committees and rarely missing a meeting, even with her illness. She worked and played hard with the same vengeance, taking trips with friends, creating memories at the family home in Hayward and riding her Harley.

She is survived by friends, family and a city full of people she loved.

She will be missed by all.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the 7 p.m. service Wednesday, March 27, at the Schmidt & Bartelt Notbohm-Kreutzmann Funeral Home, 121 S. Cross St., Oconomowoc.

There are many to thank, but in particular, she sends her blessings to the Oconomowoc Cancer Center and friend/physician Dr. Hanson.

Donations to the Cancer Center, Oconomowoc Memorial Veterans Park, AngelsGrace or the Lora Mae Cochrane Memorial Fund can be made through 1st Bank Financial Centre.
