Gayle J. ‘Nana’ Lierk

Gayle J. “Nana” Lierk (nee Williams) died peacefully Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at the age of 93, joining her late loving husband of 48 years, Harry S. Lierk.

Together, they shared a happy life in the house that they built in Hartland, raising three children: John (Betsy), Susan (Skip) Sickels and Mary Hughlett. She was the proud grandmother of Mark (Gwen) Sickels, Christopher Sickels, Jennifer (Christopher) Lierk Mayhew, Matthew Lierk, Brian (Heather) James and Sara (Ryan) Crabtree. She adored her great-granddaughters, Morgan and Abby Sickels and Emma and Addison Mayhew.

Gayle proudly shared family pictures and stories with her many friends. She is further survived by her nieces and nephews, with whom she shared a close relationship.

The most important thing in our mother’s life was her family, which she was the center of. Her presence in our lives will be greatly missed.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held Friday, May 3, at Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church, W299-N5782 Highway E, Hartland, at 5 p.m. with the Rev. Tom Pietz officiating. Visitation with her family will be from 4 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to: The Hartland Village Library, of which Gayle was a avid reader; or to Mary Hughlett, 2836 Madison St., Unit D, Waukesha, WI 53188, to support her granddaughter’s elementary school’s music department and concerts she so enjoyed attending.
