Elmer F. Bergmann

Elmer F. Bergmann, 84, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at the Columbus Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Columbus. He was born on May 29, 1928, in the Town of Lebanon to Elmer and Viola (Rohloff) Bergmann.
Elmer served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and the Army Reserves for a completion of eight years of service. He owned and operated Oconomowoc Auto Body in Oconomowoc for 31 years, where he was a member of the Special Police Force. Elmer was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ixonia, a member of the Solveson-Moos-Abrahamson VFW Post 2260 and the Oconomowoc Sportsmanís Club. He was a motorcycle, snowmobile, antique car and John Deere tractor enthusiast.
Elmer was married to Susan Green on Jan. 10, 1987 in Rome. In addition to his wife, Elmer is survived by his two daughters, Theresa (Kreg) Reimer of Oconomowoc and Kathleen (Brian) Leitzke of Delavan; one son, William (Mary) of Watertown; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Frances Motl and Lucille Zimdars, both of Oconomowoc; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Edward; an infant daughter, Bernadette; three brothers, Kermit, Chester and Wilbur; one sister, Jeanette Duley.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 29, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ixonia. The Rev. Allen Tetzlaff and the Rev. Martin Stuebs officiated. Interment was in Glenview Memorial Gardens, Ixonia, with military honors.
