John J.‘ Jack’ Illing, DDS


April 14, 1951 – May 2, 2013


John J. “Jack” Illing, DDS, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family Thursday May 2, 2013, at the age of 62. He was the beloved husband of Kim; loving father of Elizabeth (Ben) Fuller, Rachel Illing, Jake Illing and Jamie Illing; loyal son of Robert “Bob” and Betty “Becky” Illing; brother of Sue (Mike) Alber and Laurie (Dave) Ripplinger; and proud grandfather of Nolan and Nathan. He is also survived by four nieces, four nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Illing.

Jack graduated from Waukesha South High School, where he was an All-American swimmer. He attended Ohio State University and graduated from the dental school in 1976. He had a very successful practice for more than 33 years in the Madison area.

He loved lake living, boating, his up north cabin, deer hunting, Florida beaches and spending time with his family.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 11, from noon until the time of a memorial service at 3 p.m. at Merrill Hills Country Club, W279-S3425 Merrill Hills Road, Waukesha.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 902, Pewaukee, WI 53072, or the cancer charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Jack will always be in our hearts and he will also be missed by his three faithful dogs.
