John V. Simon

John Valentine Simon left earth Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, to help tend Godís heavenly fields. John was born Feb. 14, 1926, in Brookfield. He graduated from Waukesha High School in 1944. John married Marjorie G. Elias on Aug. 18, 1951. John farmed all of his life, first in Brookfield, then in Caldwell, raising some of the best sweet corn ever tasted. The most important things to John were his family, his faith, farming and food.

John is remembered by his wife, Marjorie, and his children, Cynthia Stittleburg, Victoria (Dale) Tetzlaff, John Richard Simon, Christopher (Nancy) Simon, Keith (Laura) Simon and Valerie (Todd) Bluhm. His grandchildren are Kevin (Tracy) Stittleburg, Kyle (Bonnie) Stittleburg, Brooke Tetzlaff, Bridgett (Dan) Chartier, Bradley (Abigail) Tetzlaff, Jenica (Adam) Shortland, Jordan Simon, Nick Simon, Kayla Simon, Lauren Bluhm and Ross Bluhm, as well as three great-grandchildren, with two soon to come. John is also remembered by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

John is now with his parents; his brothers Earl, Allen, and Francis; and his sister Virginia Bosch; along with other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at Becker Ritter Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 8, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Additional visitation will be held at St. Luke Catholic Church, 18000 W. Greenfield Ave. in Brookfield, on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. followed by the celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Private family burial will be at Caldwell Cemetery.
