Roy Melvin Lloyd, 85, of Big Bend, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family Nov. 5, 2013. Roy was born Aug. 22, 1928, in Winona, Minn. He married Gladys (nee Heacox) on Nov. 25, 1949, and had 10 loving children.

Roy enjoyed snowmobiling and watching the Packers. He loved country music, dancing and singing. Roy loved sharing stories about his family and friends, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends at Happy Hollow in Melrose. He loved putzing in his yard. Roy loved jokes and hardy laughter. He always enstilled a sense of fun at home. He was a very open-minded man, teaching his children from an early age to think for themselves and be respectful of others.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Gladys. He is the loving dad of Susan (Tom) Feller, David, Dennis (Barb), Diane Grund, Kathleen (Martin) Verdev, Kurt (Rhonda), Teresa (Barry) Brown, Dawn Lloyd (Joe), Connie (Jeff) Whitehouse and daughter-in-law Laurie Lloyd. He was the proud grandfather of 26 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He is further survived by three sisters, Betty, Nettie Belle and Charlotte, and two brothers, Fayette and David Lloyd.

Roy was preceded in death by a son, Keith; his parents, Orrin and Pearl; two grandchildren, Angel and Sheila; and eight siblings.

A visitation will be held at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 15250 W. National Ave., New Berlin, on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 3 p.m. until the time of a funeral service at 7 p.m.
