James L. Michalsky, 67, of Oconomowoc, passed away suddenly Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, while at his cabin in the woods. He was born Sept. 17, 1946. James is preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy Mike (Janette) Michalsky, and his brother, Everett.
James was born and lived in Oconomowoc his entire life. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving a tour of duty in Vietnam. He worked for Wisconsin Electric as a foreman until his retirement. Jim loved to fish, hunt and work in his garden. He also loved to take many aerobic classes and socialize at the Lake Country Racquet and Athletic Club in Hartland.
James is survived by his daughter, Julie (Tod) Kinunen of Mukwonago, and their four children: Elias, Olin, Linnea, Elsa; his son, Michael (Erin) Michalsky of Wisconsin Dells and their three children: Will, Luke and Maya; his sister, Susan (Richard) Indermuehle of Manitowish Waters; and his nephews, Richard and Theodore.
A memorial gathering for James will be held today, Nov. 21, at Pagenkopf Funeral Home, 1165 E. Summit Ave., Oconomowoc, beginning at 5 p.m. A time of remembrance followed by military honors will take place at 6:30 p.m, all to be held at the funeral home.
