Lydia Morris, 72, of Oshkosh and formerly of Pardeeville, joined her husband in eternal life Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013. Rodney preceded Lydia in death on Dec. 13, 2009.
Lydia was born Jan. 8, 1941, in Corpus Christi, Texas, the daughter of the late Alfredo and Nicolasa (Castillo) Torres. Lydia married Rodney Morris on Jan. 20, 1962, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Randolph.
Lydia enjoyed sewing, baking and gardening, and most of all, cherished time spent with her grandchildren.
She will be fondly remembered by her children, Marty (Rosalie) Morris of Montello and Julie (Doug) Shew of Oshkosh; her sisters, Connie Torres, Mary (Ruben) Reyes, Emma (Tony) Bos and Sandi (Gary) Schroeder; and her brothers, Alfredo (Patricia) Torres Jr. and Felix (Jackie) Torres. She was the proud grandmother and great-grandmother of Jason (Jolene) Morris, Mackenzie Shew, Riley Shew and Ariel Morris. Lydia also will be remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Lydia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rodney; and a sister, Juanita.
The family will greet friends and relatives from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial Mass on Saturday, Nov. 30, at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church, 830 S. Westhaven Drive, Oshkosh.
The family would like to thank the staff of Heartland Hospice and Oakwood Manor for their wonderful and compassionate care of their mother.
