BROOKFIELD

Mitchell L. Kohls

June 7, 1960 – Nov. 28, 2013

In the early morning hours of Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, instead of going to his tree stand, Mitch went into the arms of his Lord and Savior at age 53.

Leaving behind brokenhearted, but committed to honoring his memory is his wife of 28 years, Mary Mitchell, and their three amazing daughters, Katherine from Minneapolis, Minn., Hayden and Madeline. He was the loving son of Kenneth (Nancy Kohls) and Deanna Tyree of Fresno, Calif., caring brother of Scott (Vicki) Kohls and Jill (Michael) Godfrey, and fond son-in-law of John and Carol Mitchell. He was a devoted uncle to his nieces and nephews, and also is loved by other relatives and many friends.

A memorial gathering will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at the Krause Funeral Home, 21600 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield. An additional gathering will take place at the funeral home on Monday, Dec. 2, from 10 a.m. to noon, with a memorial service to follow. Private family burial will be at the Gardens of StoneBank near his beloved home on North Lake.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Brookfield Academy, Mitchell Kohls Scholarship Fund, Waukesha Community Foundation-Kohls Family Fund or Christ the Life Lutheran Church.

Mitch served the community and his clients through his business, Kohls Group Consulting.

Mitch’s life will not be defined by his war with cancer, however, we would like to offer profound thanks to the dozens of medical professionals who touched his life, fondly named The Dream Team, led by Dr. Paul Lemarbe, his nurse Natalie, Dr. Scott Koss, Ann Wick APNP and our good friend Dr. Arch Pequet, who was the first to stand by our side and stayed there to the end.

Thank you to all of our friends who carried us when it was hard to walk.

Krause Funeral Home is serving the family. For more information, call 432-8300.
