Rueben D. Sauer

Rueben D. Sauer, 91, of Watertown, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013. Rueben was born Jan. 13, 1922, in Oconomowoc, to Max and Lydia (nee Braatz) Sauer.
He married Miriam Fulmer on Nov. 15, 1947, in Nashotah.
Rueben is survived by his beloved wife, Miriam, and his loving children, Mary Ann (Curt) Pernat of Ixonia, Barbara Tessmann of Oconomowoc and David (Tammy) Sauer of Oconomowoc. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jennifer (Greg) Zwieg, John (Jodi) Pernat, Luke (Mary) Pernat, Amanda (Brian) Bauer, Rebecca (John) Davis, Stephanie (Chris) Ruetten, Calvin, Dillon and Sadie Sauer, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Rueben was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold and Emmanuel, and sons-in-law, Stephen and Evertt.
Rueben was an expiditor controller at Allis Chalmers and a bartender at Loppy’s Bar and the Firemans Hall in Ixonia. Rueben was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Oconomowoc American Legion Post 91.
Rueben was able to take a military Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., in October 2011. Services were Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Schmidt & Bartelt NotbohmKreutzmann Funeral Home, 121 S. Cross St., Oconomowoc. His final rest was at the Norwegian Cemetery with military honors.
