Carol A.‘Cari’ Long (nee Schomer)

Carol A. “Cari” Long (nee Schomer) walked hand in hand into eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at the age of 62. God took her home on her husband Bill’s 68th birthday so they could be reunited once more.

Carol was retired from M&I Data Services after working there for many years in accounting. She was an avid sports fan, but especially loved the Green Bay Packers.

Carol showed great courage and strength and was an inspiration to many that she came in contact with during her short battle with cancer.

She is survived by one brother, Robert (Betty) Schomer; four sisters, DeDe (Mike) Mann, Nan (Dick) Moon, Mary (Jim) Mitchell and Sue (Brian) Lenard; her stepdad, Art Kohlhaas; and her very dear friend, Linda Boldt. She is also survived by many other special family and friends.

In addition to her husband, Bill, she was preceded in death by her parents, Robert P. Schomer and Doris Schomer-Kohlhaas.

The family wishes to give a heartfelt thank you to all who walked with Carol on her journey: St. Joseph’s Hospital, Elmbrook Memorial Hospital Inpatient Rehab, Franciscan Woods and AngelsGrace Hospice, Oconomowoc. Thank you all for your kindness and care.

To honor Carol’s final wishes, there will not be any services held.

Memorial contributions may be made to AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc or St. Jude Children’s Hospital (www.stjude.org).

God saw her getting tired and a cure was not meant to be, so He put his arms around her, and whispered ... “Come with Me”
