Ruth Marie Fancher

Ruth Marie Fancher of Sussex, 58, passed away peacefully in her home on the morning of Thursday, Oct.
10, 2013. She was born in Chicago on Aug. 30, 1955, the daughter of John and Valentina (Strods) Diktanas.
Ruth was raised in Crivitz. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Oshkosh nursing school in 1977 and was a caring nurse for more than 35 years. On June 4, 1977, she married her loving husband of 36 years, Jerry Fancher. She was the most incredible mother to her three children, Becky, Krista and Brad, and taught them how to be each others’ best friends. Her four beautiful grandchildren, Noah, Eli, Avery and Piper Ruthie, were her pride and joy.
Ruth spent much of her time involved in the community and her children’s schools. She helped found the Richmond School Booster Club and served as an Arrowhead School Board member. Ruth was passionate about her family. She loved spending time at the lake home in Eagle River with Jerry, Irene, her best friend and sister, her brother-in-law Darryl and the rest of the family.
Ruth was preceded in death by her mother, Valentina Diktanas.
She is survived by her her husband, Jerry, and her children, Becky (Brian) Cull, Krista (Brian) Kitzerow and Brad Fancher. She is further survived by her father, John Diktanas; her brother, Vitas (Heidi) Diktanas; her sisters, Irene (Darryl) Goltz and Lisa (Chad) Cochart; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who meant the world to her.
Ruth’s family would like to say a special thank you to everyone at the Froedtert Cancer Center Courage Clinic, as well as all the doctors and nurses who cared for her these past 10 months.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m.Wednesday, Oct. 16, at St. Charles Catholic Church, 313 Circle Drive, Hartland.
Visitation will be at the church from 3 p.m. until the time of the Mass.
