Jacquelyn Ryan

Jacquelyn F. “Jackie” Ryan (nee Mucha) went home to God on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at LindenGrove Nursing home, at the age of 84. Her life began in Milwaukee on Nov. 23, 1928, with her parents, Helen Frances Mucha (Lesinski) and Leonard Anton Mucha. Jackie is survived by her children, Julie Brooks (Arthur), Mary Ryan (Jim Pendergast Pete Ryan (Linda Schneider and Carrie Dakin as well as her brother, David Mucha (Annie). Her grandchildren, Eric Cooper (Laura), Geoff Cooper, Moriah Iverson and Bethany Iverson (Jason Noer) will miss her dearly. Her two great-grandchildren are John Ryan Cooper and Escher Keltgen.

Jackie attended St. Leo’s Grade School, Messmer High School and Mount Mary College. On June 11, 1949, she married Joe Ryan. Throughout their lives, they enjoyed pushing the boundaries of excellence in their many hobbies together.

Jackie was a homemaker and avid craftsperson. She excelled in every craft she tried: knitting, oriental rugs, candle making, needlepoint, miniatures and more. She was a life-long stamp collector. Having an intelligent and inquisitive mind, she was a keen bridge player and participated in competitive duplicate bridge for many years. She taught bridge at the Waukesha YWCA and WCTC. In her later years, she enjoyed being a volunteer runner at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. An avid reader, she was on a quest to read every single Danielle Steele book she could get her hands on.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the 1:30 p.m. service Sunday, Oct. 27, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha.
