Fernando ‘Freddy’ Salazar Martinez

Fernando “Freddy” Salazar Martinez of Waukesha died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at his home at the age of 71. He was born in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, on March 12, 1942, the son of Tirso and Rebeca (nee Salazar) Martinez.
On Aug. 4, 1967, he married Maria Aguilar in Villa Fuente, Coahuila, Mexico.
Freddy enjoyed baseball, softball and playing billiards at many Waukesha establishments. He was recently inducted into the Waukesha City League Billiard Hall of Fame.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 46 years, Maria of Waukesha; their children, Rebecca (H. Tracy Coleman) Martinez-Milton of Essington, Pa., and Fernando “Corky” (Christina Vega) Martinez of Waukesha; and his two granddaughters, Emily and Sarah Martinez of Waukesha. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters, Rebecca Martinez of Waukesha, Maria (Antonio) Montalbo of Riverbank, Calif., George Martinez of Waukesha, Ruben Martinez of Mexico and Victor Martinez of Waukesha.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Tirso Martinez.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service Friday, Nov. 1, at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. A memorial Mass will also be celebrated at a later date.
