He came home from school for Christmas in 1939, and they were married at
the Main Street Chapel in Snowflake. He returned to college in
Washington, D.C., and she soon joined him.
Sometime later, they moved to Salt Lake City. In 1946, they moved to
Phoenix for Ard to join his brother and brother-in-law in building
homes. The first subdivision they built was named LaPreal Manor. The
Phoenix/ Scottsdale area is where they raised their children. In 1963,

Health issues necessitated her moving back to the Phoenix/Scottsdale
area. In 2010, she went to live with her daughter, Pamela. She remained
there under the constant and loving care of her precious daughter,
Pamela, granddaughter Lindsay Ellis and great-granddaughter Maya Ellis.
LaPreal was active in the LDS church, where she sang in numerous choirs.
