Inez M. Gomoll, 85, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc. Inez was born in 1928 in Milwaukee to parents Donald and Catherine Bohn. She graduated from Wauwatosa High School in 1945 and married Augie Gomoll in 1950. Inez worked as a secretary both before her marriage and for many years after her children went to school. For more than a decade, she ran a word-processing business out of her home. She devoted her life to caring for her husband and children, sewing much of their wardrobe during the years when her children were young. Family and friends enjoyed and praised her baking skills; her Swedish pastry and sugar cookies were legendary. She loved reading and working crossword puzzles; she was a sharp bridge player who loved socializing and competing with her friends in bridge tournaments.
She is survived by her children, Jeanne (Scott Custis), Steve (Linda), Julie, Dan (Kelly), Danny Field (son Ericís partner); as well as her sister, Donna Helwig; brother, Ronnie Bohn; and five grandchildren, Sara, Eric, Amanda, Rachel and Jacob.
Inez was preceded in death by her husband, Augie; a son, Eric; and a sister, Charlotte Gillis.
The visitation for Inez will be held from 1 p.m. until the 3 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at St. Anthony on the Lake Catholic Church, W280-N2101 Prospect Ave., City of Pewaukee. The Rev. Anthony Zimmer will be officiating. Inezís ashes will be interred alongside her husbandís at Wisconsin Memorial Park. Burial will be held for the family privately.
