He entered the U.S. Navy in 1945, serving until 1949. He married Irene Garity in Sullivan and lived in Waukesha, where he was a firefighter for the city of Waukesha, until he retired in 1978. Harvey enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and, of course, golfing where he shared much of his wit and skills with young golfers at the Paganica Pro Shop in Oconomowoc. He won many trophies and even received his FIFTH hole-in-one, just three weeks after being declared legally blind! Harveylater enjoyed gardening in his backyard.

He is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Irene; sons John (Sandy) of Oconomowoc, Joe (Gabriele) of Waukesha and Rick (special friend Mary Ann Andrews), both of Florida; and grandchildren Nicole (Ronnie) Gibson and Ben Eppers, all of Florida, Pat (Reyna) McNamar, of Belleville and Shawn McNamar of Westboro.

He is further survived by siblings Everett of Stevens Point; Kenneth of Waukesha; Jack (Pat) of Denver, Colo.; Hazel Karner of Watertown; Mildred Burns of Black Creek; and Shirley Giese of Stevens Point.

Harvey is also loved and survived by great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Rohman, Ted, LeRoy, John and Richard Eppers, and sisters Cecelia Schmidt, Evelyn Clements and Marge Kleuskens.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 8, from 4:00 p.m., until time of service at 6 p.m. at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road, Waukesha (on the corner of highways J and JJ, about four blocks south of I-94).
