Roger William ‘Bill’ Chapman

Roger William “Bill” Chapman of Mukwonago died peacefully April 6, 2014, at 86 years of age. Bill was born August 18, 1927, and is survived by his wife of 63 years, Fern (Bornfleth) Chapman.

Bill was a lifelong resident of Mukwonago. He graduated from Mukwonago High School in 1945 and was the third generation to run the family farm where he resided until his death.

He was employed by American Motors and retired from Pabst Brewery after a 30-year career. Bill and Fern are the owners of Indian Creek Antiques.

Bill loved sports and played Land ’o Lakes baseball for many years. He was an avid Brewers and Packers fan. In addition to farming, he enjoyed gardening, traveling and socializing with family and friends.

His greatest love was his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Isabelle (Murdock) Chapman; brother Robert (Marianna) Chapman; and three infant children, Billy, Ted and Mary.

He is survived by his wife, Fern; daughter Wendy Chapman; son Michael Chapman; daughter Laurie Chapman; and his cherished grandchildren, Allie Eastwood, Jordan Wheeler and Jonathan Wheeler. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Chapman, as well as extended family including sister- and brothers- in-law, nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 13, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 410 Highway NN East, Mukwonago, from 1:00 PM until the time of funeral service at 4:00 PM at the church.

Burial will be held on Monday, April 14, at Rural Home Cemetery in Big Bend at 11:00 AM.
