Cheryl Lorraine Hinrichs (nee Sloan)

Cheryl Lorraine Hinrichs (nee Sloan), born September 17, 1950, resided most of her life in Waukesha. Cheryl Lorraine Hinrichs lost her battle with cancer on Good Friday, April 18, 2014, at the age of 63.

She was the beloved sister of Deborah Haley and Terence R. Sloan; cherished aunt of David Pike, Derek Pike, Nicholas (Gretchen) Sloan, Cassie Sloan (Marc La Barre) and Dawn Pike (Daniel Kersten); great-aunt to Mack, Milo, Lilian, James, Benjamin and Abraham; and daughter-in-law of Liz Hinrichs; sister-in-law of Karen (Scott) and Kathy (Dennis). She is also survived by her stepchildren, Betsy (Sean), Tom (Rachel), Dan (Katy), Betsy and Sue (Mark); step-grandchildren, Traver, Brenton, Emma and Anna; and aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Hinrichs; parents, Richard and Marilyn Sloan; father-in-law, Harry Hinrichs; and sister-in-law, Rhonda Sloan.

Cheryl worked at International Harvester (Navistar) for about 30 years. She spent her early years at The Old Metropolitan Building and Motor Works (Waukesha Engine), and most recently worked at Target in Waukesha.

Cheryl loved country music and line dancing. She also enjoyed reading books (the library was her second home) and working in her yard with a great glass of wine.

A memorial gathering will be Wednesday, April 30, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A celebration of Cheryl’s life will be at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated.
