Catherine Ann ‘Kay’ Coogan

Kay Coogan of Waukesha passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2014, at the age of 87 years. She was born on August 4, 1927, in Madison, the daughter of Herman and Violet Paine.

Kay worked as a bartender for 30 years, most of that at Hammer’s Landing.

She was proud of her Irish heritage and enjoyed bowling, playing cards and shaking bar dice.

Kay is lovingly survived by her children, Edgar Coogan Jr., Barbara (Tom) Lumb, Margaret Amundsen, Jerome (Rosie) Coogan, Richard Coogan, Robert Coogan, Frederick Coogan, Teresa Poeppel, Timothy Coogan and Susan Coogan; her 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, William (Jeanette) Sullivan. She is further survived by two nieces, other relatives and many, many friends.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, children, Patricia (Jim) Inczauskis, Daniel Coogan and Catherine Coogan; a great-granddaughter, Lynn; daughters-in-law, Linda Coogan (on Aug. 15, 2014) and Cherie Coogan; two sisters; and one brother.

The visitation for Kay will be held from 4:00 p.m.

until the time of the 6:00 p.m. funeral service on Friday, August 22, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated.
